‘Birth, Life, Death and Happiness'

Since birth, we are fated to walk towards death. Ironically, the fate

gives human the will to live, and we struggle to put off the moment of

death even a second. Whatever we do in our life, it is to estrange

ourselves from death. Happiness only comes to us for a short time at

the instant when we forget the fear of death, and it immediately

disappears when we glimpse the very shadow of death. This relation

among birth, life, death and happiness constitutes the basis of my

philosophy.

'탄생, 삶, 죽음 그리고 행복'

인간은 죽음이라는 숙명을 안고 태어난다.

아이러니하게도 그 슬픈 운명이 우리에게 살아가려는 의지를 가져다 주고, 우리는 그 죽음의 순간을 일초라도 늦추기 위해 안간힘을 쓴다.

무슨 짓을 하든 결국 살기 위함이다.

모든 행위의 의지는 죽음으로부터 우리 자신을 멀리하고자 하는 욕망에서 기인한다.

행복이라는 감정은 우리가 그 죽음의 공포를 잊는 그 순간에만 잠시 우리를 찾아 온다.

허나 죽음의 그림자가 눈썹끝을 스치기라도 하면 행복은 저만치 사라져 버리고 만다.

탄생-삶-죽음 그리고 행복 이들 사이의 관계가 내 철학의 기저를 이룬다.
